The Ten Year Story

Whilst inspired by the work of the Severn Tidal Power Group, in the new millennium, there seemed to be little public information and enthusiasm, and no active Government participation.  In my poem of October 2004 (see Page 2) I reflected a vision and further in an aid to promote my book “The Grumpy Old Welshman” discovered that no planning application had ever been received for the old “barrage”.  After considerable paperwork and information gathering I deposited a planning application on St David’s Day 2006 (see copy Page 4) to Vale of Glamorgan Council and to Sedgemoor District Council.  To my amazement the media attention was enormous and two weeks of my life was spent giving interviews.  From the lows of Sky News to the heights of Burnham-On-Sea.com!
I have met incredible Companies and people, travelled constantly to the south west (see motorhome Page 5.) to give talks to Councils / Environmentalists / MP’s / and Economic Development Departments.  The support has been overwhelming “For our Clean Secure Energy Project”.  I should add that despite the fact that the Department of Energy and Climate are restricted by the Energy report of November 2006, I have been grateful for their active support.
Finally, the ‘silver thread’ of this project is now revealed (see Page 6).  The answer to the power house design capturing ebb and flow.  I now set my sights on lobbying the Government for the build cash.

I thank you all for your support in the last ten years.
